Welcome to 2026.
I hope it’s going to be a good one for you.
When we talk about investments we rarely think about self-investment.
Spending money on something that somewhere down the road will hopefully pay for itself, or help you to make more money.
Something that’s the ultimate return on your investment.
It could be an item for the kitchen that’s more energy efficient or allows you to cook more at home rather than eating out all the time.
Maybe it’s a class or a course where you learn a new skill to earn more money or even start a new career.
It could even be as simple as learning to cook, to can food, to sew, to garden, to repair clothes etc.
This investment can even be free if you find a tutorial or class on line on say sewing or making your own soap or it can be a larger investment like a course. It all depends on your budget.
This new year think about something you can do to invest in yourself.
What skill and knowledge will you have gained by this time next year.
And finally, think about how this might lower your bills, how it might put more money into your pocket and what you can do with the extra cash.
I’d love to hear if you’re already doing something in the self-investment sphere, what it is and how you plan to put it to good use.
Until next time, happy savings.
