And just like that, I’m now on my 9th-month blog progress report.
October was a great month for me in terms of traffic. Not a whole lot but for me, it’s still great and I am happy with it.
I was able to put more time fine-tuning my schedule between my full-time job and blogging, which gave me a system to stick to. Which also means waking up earlier and going to bed later.
It’s a sacrifice but I got my eyes on the price.
If you’ve been following my income report, you already know why I’m sharing my blog income progress report. If you’re new, you can head over to my First Blog Income Report to learn more.
By having been on the blogosphere for a few months now, I can say that it is possible to make money from blogging, not EASY but POSSIBLE. So if you haven’t started your blog yet, you can head over to How To Start A Profitable Blog and learn how you can start a self-hosted blog for just $3.95/mo.
And if you have been blogging for a while, make sure your work is protected. You’ve invested so much time, money and effort into your blog, only to lose it in the end. Check out Amira’s legal pages, which has all you need to protect yourself and your blog from legal lawsuits.
Now let’s dive in.
What’s New At MWP
For October, there are few highlights to note.
MWP Has Now A Premium Theme. I am so excited to say that I finally got a new theme for MWP. A premium theme does make a huge difference. I have more room for customization and most importantly, it loads FASTER. If you’ve been putting off upgrading to a premium theme, don’t wait any longer, check out these affordable premium themes.
No 10th and 11th Month Blog Progress Report. As I’ve mentioned in my 8th-month blog income report, I will work harder on my 9th month, so hopefully, my hard work would carry over through the holidays. And I did. I was able to create content that will get me through the end of the year.
The reason why I will not be publishing the 10th and 11th-month progress is because of the holidays. Most of my time will be spent with family, friends and not to mention it’s the busiest time at work. As a result, there will be less time for blogging, so there will be not much to report.
Now on to the numbers.
9th Month Blog Progress Report
Here are my stats for the month of October.
Pageviews And Visitors
The number of page views and visitors made October my best month yet. I kid you not, it was hard work.
Pinterest continues to be the main driver for traffic this month. If you want to know more about how to make the most this season with Pinterest, check out this post.
Organic Search Progress
My organic traffic is starting to go uphill in the chart, which is actually encouraging because I was starting to get disappointed with my SEO techniques.
If you are wondering where I get the stats, I use Semrush. I don’t have the paid membership. The free features are good enough for me for now.
I am very pleased to say that I was able to meet all the goals that I set for this month. Not sure if they contributed to the increase in traffic but it still feels good to meet goals.
|Surveys and Apps||2.74|
Unfortunately, although the traffic is up, the revenue is down, which is a bummer. However, it is better than zero.
I use the companies listed below and they make up my monthly expenses. They offer free trials if you are interested to try them out. Just click on the link.
|Link||Amount||What You Get|
|Tailwind||14.99||Get $15 to get you started|
|Smarterqueue||19.99||30-day FREE trial instead of 14|
|Convertkit||29||30-Day Free trial|
|Canva||12.95||The Free version which works just fine.|
I use Siteground for my blogging platform but it was already prepaid during my first month so I do not have to worry about it for the rest of the year.
I also prepaid my Grammarly Pro subscription so I am good for one year.
My total expenses this month is more than usual because of the premium theme, P.O box renewal and the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit.
Not looking good but I hope to learn more from the blogger’s toolkit so I can be a better blogger.
Goals And Tasks For The Rest of the Year
This year is flying by so fast that I cannot believe there are only two months left before we get into the New Year. Exciting but scary at the same time.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, the holiday season is the busiest time for me so most likely I will not be able to put more time on blogging. However, I still like to have some goals to work on.
So here are my goals.
Update Old Posts. I usually try to write four blog posts but since I already have prescheduled posts for the rest of the year, I will work on updating old posts.
Write A Guest Post. I was not able to write a guest post on the month of October due to time constraints. I am hoping to write one this month.
Create An Editorial Calendar. With the New Year coming up, I like to have my post ideas in place so I can start working on them. I am so bad with tasks that if I don’t put dates on them, they will never get done.
There you have it!
I hope you enjoyed my 9th-month blog progress report.
